Weather of the first warning: Changes expected until the weekend

The weather is changing! Although the amount of precipitation could not be determined at the beginning of the week, the accompanying drop in temperature is guaranteed to entice you outside.

A weak, dry cold front reaches the valley at Friday evening. This is a much cooler low and as observed on Monday, it contains limited precipitation. However, Friday’s showers will be mostly concentrated in the central mountains. Rainfall amounts remain undetermined until forecasters know how far south the system will descend. Temperatures are expected to drop 15 to 20 degrees, with highs of 78 degrees on Saturday in the valley and 72 degrees on Sunday. It will be windy at times.

Weekend campers could see the low point on Sunday morning at a cool -3 degrees. In addition to the cold, there is the possibility of rain showers moving across the region.

  • In the valley, temperatures will cool down to below 25 degrees, with a drop of 15 to 20 degrees expected over the weekend.
  • Wind can disrupt weekend barbecues as paper plates and other lightweight utensils can fly through the air.
  • Overall, you may prefer the refreshing, cooler change as highs warm up again next week.
