Car crashes on Arkansas roads leave 2 dead, 4 injured | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

According to preliminary reports from the Arkansas State Police, two people were killed and four others were injured in car accidents on Arkansas roads on Sunday morning.

Nakhia Javon Booker, 21, of Hope, was killed around 3:55 a.m. while traveling westbound in a 2013 Chrysler on Interstate 30 in Hempstead County. The Chrysler left the right side of the road and struck a tree. Booker was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

The driver of the Chrysler, 30-year-old Xavier Stewart of Texarkana, Texas, was taken to a hospital near Texarkana for treatment, according to the report.

Danny Williams, 45, of Lonoke, was killed around 8:00 a.m. when he ran a red light in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado while traveling westbound on Front Street in Lonoke. According to an Arkansas State Police report, his Silverado was struck by a 2012 Honda Accord traveling northbound on Center Street.

The Silverado was struck at the intersection of Front Street and Center Street, where his vehicle spun counterclockwise and struck a traffic light pole, the report said.

The driver of the Honda Accord, 66-year-old Rita Kimble, and two minors in the vehicle were taken to area hospitals for treatment, according to the report.

Officials investigating the incidents reported that the road was dry and the weather was clear at the time of the accident.
