Isolated showers at the beginning of the week

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – We’re starting the week off with clouds and scattered showers. Don’t forget your umbrella when you head out the door.

TODAY

An approaching cold front will continue to move toward the region today, leading to more clouds and isolated showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

Currently, the rain is most likely to come in waves, with new data this morning suggesting that there will be scattered showers throughout the morning and early afternoon, keeping temperatures under control.

Although there is a brief break in the chance of rain this afternoon, clouds will persist and temperatures will reach highs of between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius today.

A second wave of scattered showers and storms will arrive later this evening and overnight. Even with the second wave tonight, not everyone will see the rain. The best chances will be near the beaches tonight as the cold front drifts south.

Some showers are expected on Tuesday night and in the early morning hours.

SHORT RELIEF

Drier air behind the cold front will bring a brief cooling effect on Tuesday. Northwest winds will keep temperatures almost normal at 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. Thankfully, it will be pleasant for June conditions. Aside from a chance of showers before sunrise, the forecast looks good for all plans on Tuesday afternoon.

After the rain showers at night, Tuesday promises to be a great day!

REST OF THE WEEK

The rest of the week will be fairly calm, with temperatures rising until the weekend. Maximum temperatures will rise to 30-35 degrees on the beaches and 30-35 degrees inland. Humidity will increase every day and there will be a risk of some showers and thunderstorms again from Friday to Sunday. At this point, the forecast is not bad for any plans.
