5 people arrested in motor vehicle theft investigation: Greenwich Police

GREENWICH, CT – The Greenwich Police Department has arrested five people Wednesday morning in connection with a motor vehicle theft investigation.

At 6:41 a.m., the department said there was “police activity” in the area of ​​North Street and Exit 31 on Merritt Parkway. Four suspects were in custody and officers were searching for a possible fifth suspect.

A fifth person was arrested a short time later, according to police.

Further information about the investigation or the suspects was not immediately available Wednesday morning.

Last week police warned residents of a series of car thefts that took place overnight and in the early hours of the morning. The department said it will deploy “additional high-visibility patrols.”
