Investigations into a drowning case at Lake Winnipesaukee are ongoing

A drowning case is being investigated at a popular New Hampshire beach after a man was pulled from the water on Thursday.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, officers responded to Carry Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee shortly after 6:15 p.m. because a man had been found facedown in the water. There they encountered passersby who attempted to bring him to shore.

Life-saving measures were attempted on the man, but were unsuccessful. His death was confirmed shortly afterwards.

The man’s identity is currently not being disclosed.

The incident remains under investigation by the Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department, the Wolfeboro Police Department, the New Hampshire State Police and the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
