“I can’t imagine what her family has been through and we are really, really sorry they had to go through that,” Houchin said.

He also said that the nursing home and the funeral home cooperated. Houchin added that the funeral home did nothing wrong because it found out on its own that she was still alive.

Authorities were called to the Butherus-Maser & Love Funeral Home near the corner of South 40th and A Streets in Lincoln on Monday morning for a medical emergency, officials said.

According to police, the funeral home performed CPR on Glantz, who was taken to a local hospital.

Glantz was pronounced dead at around 9:44 a.m. Monday at Mulberry, a nursing home in Houchin.

Facility staff pronounced Glantz, who was under hospice care, dead. Houchin said there is currently no evidence of criminal intent on the part of the nursing home, but the investigation is ongoing.
