Police search for man wanted for triple sexual assault on Mississauga Trail

Peel police are searching for a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman walking on a hiking trail in Mississauga on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred on Applewood Trail. Police said the suspect approached the woman from behind and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The suspect then fled on foot. Police said the victim did not know the suspect.

On Saturday, the police released photos of the suspect. The perpetrator is described as a white man between the ages of 20 and 30. He is between 1.73 and 1.75 meters tall, slim, has straight black hair and is carrying a gray backpack.

The man in the photo is responsible for three sexual assaults on a hiking trail in Mississauga, Peel police said.

“The suspect is believed to be responsible for two other sexual assaults that occurred on the same route in 2023,” police said in a press release. He is wanted on three counts of sexual assault.

They added that investigators fear there may be more victims. Police urged people in the area to remain vigilant at all times.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 905-453–2121, extension 1233 or Peel Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
