Two men disguised as police officers arrested for robbery in Milpitas: Police

(KRON) – Milpitas police have arrested two men posing as police officers after robbing a victim, police said on social media.

The theft occurred Friday at a shopping center near S. Park Victoria Drive and E. Calaveras Boulevard. The two perpetrators confronted the victim and demanded his wallet. After the victim complied with the robber’s demands, they fled in a silver Ford Expedition SUV.

Milpitas police used automatic license plate readers to determine the suspects’ likely route. Police noticed the suspects leaving town. Milpitas officers and officers from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office conducted a high-risk car stop on Interstate 880 near the Montague Expressway.

Authorities arrested a 20-year-old man from Kent, Washington, and a 19-year-old man from Springhill, Florida. Both suspects were arrested and booked into jail on robbery, impersonation of a public official, and conspiracy charges.

According to police investigations, there have been several robberies similar to this incident.
