Driver died when he left Slaughter Highway and crashed into a sewer on Friday evening

MASSAGE – One person was killed Friday night when their vehicle went off the road, entered a ditch and struck a sewer.

State police said the driver, whose identity has not been released, was traveling on LA-958 near LA-959 in Slaughter just after 10 p.m. His truck went off the left side of the road, entered the ditch and struck the sewer.

According to police, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially thrown from the vehicle. He died at the scene of the accident.
