One dead and three injured in car accident in northern Greece

One man died and three others were injured when the car they were in went off the road and crashed into a petrol station price sign on the Xanthi-Kavala motorway in northern Greece shortly after midnight on Friday.

Firefighters pulled a 20-year-old passenger dead from the wreckage, while the 25-year-old driver and two other men were taken to a hospital in Xanthi where they are being treated for unspecified injuries.

The local traffic police are investigating the incident.
