Police find man dead with apparent gunshot wounds on corner of 50th Street/Prospect

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – Police are trying to determine what happened to a man who was found dead early Saturday morning.

Kansas City Police were called to the corner of 50th Street and Prospect Avenue at 4 a.m. after a “party atmosphere” occurred.

The police found a man lying on the street, presumably with gunshot wounds. When the emergency services arrived on the scene, they declared the man dead.

It is unclear what led to the murder, and KCPD does not currently have anyone in custody. Homicide detectives are collecting evidence at the scene and taking witness statements.
