Two people arrested after shootout between IMPD officers and suspect

INDIANAPOLIS – Two suspects were arrested after a police-involved shooting turned into a chase in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers heard gunshots shortly before 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of East Georgia Street and South Meridian Street, just south of Monument Circle.


When officers arrived, they found that at least one of them had fired a shot.

According to police, the suspects then fled in a vehicle and gave police a short chase before they were caught and arrested.

No further information has been released.
