Pennsylvania man charged with sexually extorting at least nine minors in multiple states

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) — Bensalem police have arrested a Pennsylvania man accused of sexually extorting nine teens in multiple states. Investigators believe there are more victims.

According to police, 21-year-old Jonathan Brodecki turned himself in on Thursday to face charges of multiple counts of sexual extortion.

Brodecki is said to have sexually blackmailed at least nine teenagers aged 12 to 15 via Snapchat and Instagram.

In January, police learned of a Snapchat account with the username “jack_goodric” that was accused of sexually extorting a 15-year-old girl. Investigators found that the account’s creator was Brodecki, a Bensalem resident.

Police allege Brodecki posed as a middle school or high school boy to get the teen to send him sexually explicit photos and videos. He then threatened the girl that he would post the images publicly if she tried to break off contact, police said.

Investigators identified eight other girls, ages 12 to 15, who were sexually blackmailed by the Snapchat account “jack_goodric.” Police said Brodecki posed as 13-, 14- or 15-year-olds in each incident to convince the girls to send him explicit images.

According to police, Brodecki also sent sexually explicit images to several victims. According to police, he threatened at least one victim, a 13-year-old, that he would find her, rape her and post explicit images of her online.

Police later discovered during a search in March that Brodecki had also used a fictitious persona on Instagram “for the same illegal purposes as the fictitious Snapchat persona.” They had previously confiscated several electronic devices.

Investigators believe that other juvenile victims have not yet been identified.

Brodecki was charged with sexual abuse of children, sexual blackmail/distribution of images, sexual abuse of children/possession of child pornography, unauthorized contact with a minor, and similar offenses.

A judge set bail at $5 million. According to court records, Brodecki was unable to raise the required 10% of bail and was taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on Thursday.

Bensalem Police are asking any additional victims to contact Detective Ryan Kolb at 215-633-3746.
