Police arrest woman accused of abandoning dog in woods in South Windsor – NBC Connecticut

Police arrested a woman for allegedly abandoning a dog in South Windsor last month.

Janiya Bradford, 26, of Manchester, was arrested Thursday.

She is accused of attaching the dog’s collar to a large tree branch at the Frank Niederwerfer Wildlife Sanctuary and leaving him there.

A person walking their dog discovered the abandoned puppy on April 22 and called police.

The name “Kobe” was written on the dog’s collar.

Police did not say why she ended up in Bradford as a suspect.

According to police, she turned herself in and was released on $5,000 bail.

Bradford is scheduled to appear in court on June 5.
