Caleb Randolph’s sexual abuse conviction has been announced

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Macon man who previously worked at a youth shelter in Jonesboro was convicted Wednesday of first-degree statutory rape and sexual contact by an employee, according to Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr.

According to a news release, 27-year-old Caleb Randolph had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl who lived at the Rainbow House shelter where he was employed.

A Clayton County Superior Court judge sentenced Randolph to 30 years in prison, with the first 17 years served in prison and the remainder awaiting “strict probation.” He must also register as a sex offender.

“Caleb Randolph was put in the position of caring for our state’s most vulnerable children, and instead he sexually abused a 15-year-old girl who desperately needed comfort, support and safety,” Carr said. “For months he groomed his victim by exploiting her vulnerabilities and his actions are reprehensible. Rest assured that our case does not end here and we will continue to prosecute any person who commits or perpetuates child sexual exploitation in Georgia.”

The Attorney General’s press release states that Randolph was previously indicted by a Clayton County grand jury on May 17, 2023. He pleaded guilty to both counts in this indictment on May 9 of this year.
