A Springfield man is in the Taney County Jail after a weekend knife attack in Branson.

According to a probable cause statement provided to the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office by Branson police, Michael Everett Gardner approached a person on Platform 4 at West 76 County Music Blvd. On Sunday, he began stabbing him, hitting the victim once in the stomach and the foreman several times as the victim tried to fight the knife away. The statement indicates that the victim may have permanent damage to his arm due to the stab wounds. Gardner allegedly threatened another victim who witnessed the attack and then allegedly used pepper spray on that person.

When Branson police arrived at the scene, Gardner resisted arrest before eventually being taken into custody.

Gardner is charged with five felonies, including two counts of assault and resisting arrest. He is being held without bail in the Taney County Jail.
