One dead after three-vehicle crash in Spartanburg County

One person has died after a three-vehicle crash in Spartanburg County blocked traffic for hours. According to police, the accident occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday on northbound Interstate 85 near mile marker 81. According to the report, three vehicles were all traveling northbound at the time, including a pickup truck and a Mazda sedan slower. An F-650 truck struck the Mazda from behind. The sedan then crashed into the pickup truck. Traffic was backed up for hours. According to police, of the five people in the sedan, four were injured and one was killed. The F-650 driver was injured and taken to the hospital. The two people in the pickup were not injured. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
