Three were flown out, including a 10-year-old, after a gunman opened fire on a mobile home

CLINTON, N.C – Three people were injured – including a child – in a shooting early Sunday morning in Sampson County.

Sampson County officers and emergency responders were dispatched around 2:13 a.m. to a home on Lockamy Road, not far from Clinton, where multiple gunshots were reported.

The emergency services found three victims aged 10, 18 and 19 with gunshot wounds.

Officials say an initial investigation determined that one or more people were standing outside and opened fire on the mobile home.

The victims were flown to regional hospitals with life-threatening injuries. The names of the injured and the locations of the hospitals are not being disclosed for security reasons.

The incident is still under investigation. No further information is currently available. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 592-4141.
