Woman runs into deli and collapses after being shot in North Philadelphia – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police in Philadelphia are investigating after a woman died when she was shot outside a deli in North Philadelphia, officials said.

The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. in the 4800 block of North Broad Street in the Logan neighborhood, police said.

When officers responded to the scene, they found the woman with a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Inspector DF Pace of the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to officials, paramedics took the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead just before 5:30 p.m.

The woman was walking south on North Broad Street when she was hit by the bullet, Pace said. After she was shot, she ran into the deli before falling to the ground.

The deli where the shooting occurred has been secured by officers while the investigation continues, police said. The motive remains unknown.

Inspector Pace said many questions remained unanswered as the investigation continued.
