Teen injured in tow truck accident in Egg Harbor

New Jersey State Police are investigating a tow truck accident in Egg Harbor that left a teenage bicyclist critically injured

EGG HARBOR, NEW JERSEY (May 10, 2024) – A teenage bicyclist was critically injured in a crash involving a tow truck in Egg Harbor at Ocean Heights Avenue and Blackman Road.

According to Egg Harbor police, the incident occurred on Wednesday. A 15-year-old was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a 2021 Ford tow truck while traveling northbound on Ocean Heights Avenue.

Paramedics were called to the scene to assist the victim. The cyclist was taken to Cooper Hospital by medical helicopter.

A comprehensive investigation is currently underway.
