Patrick Mahomes knows people in Buffalo hate him

We know who Buffalo’s biggest bad guys are. The question is whether they are aware of it or not.

We talk a lot about who the biggest bad guys in Buffalo are. In many cases, they are sports figures. These are people who continually beat our sports teams and kept our team from ultimately winning that championship.

Merriam-Webster would define a villain as “anyone who opposes a hero or someone who is blamed for a particular evil or difficulty.”

They are the ones who have spoken ill of our city and who seem to have no respect for the hardworking blue-collar town that we are. They don’t understand what our life is like here, but they seem to have a lot to say about us.

Who are Buffalo’s biggest villains?

We have plenty here in Buffalo. Although they have changed over the years, some names that come up are people like Tom Brady (not so much because he beat us a lot when he was in New England, but the commentary on how horrible it is to live here seemed to make people angry), Bryan Cox at the time (he was the one who pushed everyone away at Rich Stadium after getting into a fight), Anderson Cooper (for making fun of us about Dyngus Day ), Jon Bon Jovi (for trying to take the Bills to Toronto), and more.

It doesn’t always have to do with sports, but it normally does.

Patrick Mahomes admits he’s on Buffalo’s hate list

During a podcast this week, Patrick Mahomes admitted that he was on our list of people to hate. He brought up last year’s divisional playoff game at Highmark Stadium, where the Chiefs were able to (again) finish the Bills’ season.

Interestingly, out of all the teams Mahomes had to use as an example, it was the Bills fan base he brought up. I like that he recognizes that we have a healthy rivalry between the Bills and Chiefs. I like the fact that he knows that when he comes to Buffalo, we’re not going to take him lightly. It will be a difficult place to play.

I’m not as big of a fan of Bills fans throwing snowballs at them. This is bad sportsmanship. It’s petty and it’s cheap. Bills fans are better than that. In this case, they must be better.

We never managed to put Tom Brady in his place. But there’s still a chance they can do it with Patty Mahomes.
