Rape: Man accused of kidnapping, raping 16-year-old girl in Bhopal | Bhopal News

Bhopal: A man was booked by police in Gunga on Thursday for kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl. The girl was allegedly befriended by a man through a social media platform in the Gunga area and kidnapped on his bike on the pretext of going on a trip. He took her to a rented room where he raped the girl and abandoned her outside her village. The girl told the incident to her family members and filed a complaint. Based on the girl’s complaint, Gunga police on Thursday registered a rape case against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and initiated investigation. Police said the 16-year-old survivor was a 10th grade student. In her complaint, she stated that the accused Vikram Meena befriended her on Instagram a few days ago. During their conversations, the defendant began pressuring them to meet. She tried to convince him that she couldn’t meet him, but he insisted. The girl left the house on Thursday afternoon and went to meet the defendant. Vikram picked her up on his bike and took her to Acharpura area where he raped the girl in a rented room. He then left the girl outside the village and fled. Police said when the girl was missing for more than two hours, her family began searching for her. The girl’s brother found her on the way home. The girl told them about the incident and a police report was lodged.
