One person was killed and several injured in shootings in Yazoo City

YAZOO CITY, Miss. (WJTV) – Yazoo City Police are investigating four shootings that investigators believe are related.

The Yazoo Herald reported that the shooting resulted in one death and several injuries.

Yazoo City Police Chief Terry Gann said the first shooting occurred on Saturday, May 4, on 14th Street. A woman at the site was shot four times in the leg.

According to Gann, a retaliatory shooting occurred the following evening on 20th Street at Jerry Clower Boulevard. The shooting resulted in the death of 28-year-old Jarvis Robinson. At least two others were injured.

The third shooting occurred on 14th Street and resulted in another injury. The fourth shooting occurred on West Second Street with no injuries reported.

Gann said a suspect is in custody for questioning.
