A 44-year-old man was arrested Wednesday by the Washington State Patrol on charges of driving under the influence after a chase ended in a two-car crash on Wishkah Boulevard in Aberdeen.

Keith Haskey was arrested and is currently being held without bail in the county jail on charges of driving under the influence and attempting to elude a police vehicle.

State Patrol was notified of the pursuit initiated by a Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office deputy after 5 p.m., Trooper Katherine Weatherwax said in a telephone interview.

β€œAt approximately 5:25 p.m. we received a call to our dispatch center that we had an erratic vehicle,” Weatherwax said.

The vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner, was traveling at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour and driving aggressively and erratically, according to Weatherwax. A sheriff’s deputy called off the pursuit for safety reasons, Weatherwax said.

Shortly afterwards, officers were informed that the vehicle had collided with another vehicle as it entered Aberdeen and was involved in a rollover accident. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, Weatherwax said. State troopers conducted a field sobriety test and took Haskey into custody.

Aberdeen Fire and Police were on scene, along with the sheriff’s office and police officers. The scene was cleared within about an hour of the crash, Commander said. Steve Timmons of the Aberdeen Police Department.
