The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. on Idaho and Scott St., near the 610. That’s where authorities say an unidentified undercover officer was surveilling a group of men when at least one of them fired shots at his vehicle before fleeing.

Police then set up a perimeter to find the shooter and, after checking, a few men were detained for questioning, but HPD is working to determine if they had anything to do with the shooting.

No additional information has been shared at the time of writing, but the investigation and search for the shooter continues.
