HOUSTON (AP) — Teoscar Hernández hit his 22nd home run, River Ryan struck out eight in his first major league win and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Houston Astros 6-2 on Sunday.

With the Dodgers clinging to a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning, Teoscar Hernández spun a Bryan King slider and sent the ball 110 yards into the left-field seats. Cavan Biggio extended the Dodgers’ lead with an RBI single to center field, scoring Lux, who had walked, to make it 5-2.

Houston’s Spencer Arrighetti (4-9) retired five of the first eight batters he faced. He retired eight straight batters from the second through fifth innings until he gave up a solo home run to Outman. Arrighetti allowed three runs on four hits, walked two and struck out eight.

Yainer Diaz hit a two-run home run for the Astros in the sixth inning. Houston hit 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

The Astros faced Dodgers reliever Joe Kelly in the 8th inning, with Jose Altuve hitting a one-out double against him, but couldn’t get anything else going.

It was still a successful weekend for the Astros, winning two of three games in the series against the Dodgers.
