JEFFERSON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Arkansas – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is currently investigating a shooting incident that left three people dead on Saturday.

According to reports, a JCSO officer was dispatched to a home on Lakeview Drive in Jefferson County after receiving a call about an unconscious woman and a female juvenile who reportedly had blood on their upper body. The caller told authorities she was in the home and saw the unconscious individuals. She also stated that there was another person in the home.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team was subsequently activated and assisted by several officers from the Arkansas State Police, Pine Bluff Police Department and White Hall Police Department.

Police officers managed to speak to the person inside the house and get him to go outside, but this was unsuccessful. After a while, officers heard what sounded like gunshots inside the house, and during this time, phone contact was lost.

The special operations team then entered the house and found a white man in the living room who had died from an “apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound” and who had been found in possession of a handgun.

They also found a woman in one bedroom suffering from a gunshot wound and a juvenile girl in another room who also appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound.

All individuals were transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy and determination of cause of death.
