Danger of storms in the afternoon on Friday; A beauty weekend for mom follows

Friday will start off mostly clear and calm, with comfortable temperatures in the mid-60s ahead. Clouds will form until early afternoon, with showers and storms occurring after 2 p.m. The main concern will be gusty winds and pea-sized hail, as well as a few heavy downpours if you get caught in one of the passing storms. As we move past the evening hours, most of the rain will be out here and we will become quiet, with just a few lingering clouds to start Saturday morning. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s Friday afternoon and fall to the mid 50s by sunrise Saturday.

As Mother’s Day weekend begins, a cold front will move well offshore, allowing us to experience lower humidity and sunny skies moving through with highs in the upper 70s and refreshing overnight temperatures in the upper 50s. There is a slight chance of a few showers late Saturday and Sunday morning, but the rain will be light.

We will continue to see sunshine through Monday next week before another system arrives Tuesday through Wednesday bringing our next showers and storms. Temperatures will rebound to the mid-80s and lows in the 60s next week, a few degrees above the early to mid-May average.
