Violence in Bangladesh: Student leader interrupts protests against employment quotas for 48 hours

On July 22, a Bangladeshi student organizer interrupted protests against employment quotas that had turned deadly for 48 hours.

“We are suspending the shutdown protests for 48 hours,” said Nahid Islam, chair of the main organizer of the protests, Students Against Discrimination. AFP.

“We demand that the government lift the curfew during this time, restore the internet and stop cracking down on the protesting students.”
