Where the Atlanta Falcons rank in the city’s 2024 title hopes

While the WNBA is experiencing a historic boom thanks to the arrival of young, dynamic recruits, the Dream is struggling. Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard have both made headlines, but they don’t have enough talent around them to make a difference.

Atlanta needs a No. 1 option and a much deeper bench. In a league that is growing, the Dream must find a way to make moves or find themselves behind in what has been such a fun year for the WNBA. Atlanta must hope to find a more consistent outside shooter to help spread the floor and take some of the pressure off Gray.

Never in my life has the city been as enthusiastic and rallied around a group as it was at the beginning. While the energy is still there, the loss has greatly dampened it. Seeing Josef Martinez win MVP and Martino win Coach of the Year, I felt like Atlanta finally had something to be proud of.

Before Georgia’s back-to-back titles and the Braves’ 2021 World Series win, this was the first team to break through in what seemed like forever. The time since then hasn’t been kind, their talent has waned, and the coaching role has always been singled out as a problem. The greatness that began is long gone.
