2 dead in accident in western Edgar County | News

EDGAR COUNTY, Illinois (WTHI) – Two people are dead in a motorcycle crash in western Edgar County.

It happened just before 3 p.m. Saturday on Illinois Highway 133 near North 200th Street. That’s just a few miles west of Redmon.

According to Illinois State Police, an SUV was attempting to pass another vehicle when it collided with a motorcycle.

The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were killed in the accident. The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Police said another motorcycle struck debris on the road, but the motorcyclist did not report any injuries at the scene.

The authorities are not providing any further information at this time.

Illinois Highway 133 reopened shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday.
