Houston Astros star Altuve leaves club after apparent injury

The Houston Astros took on the Minnesota Twins on Friday night. Unfortunately, they may have suffered a major blow during the game.

As Brian McTaggart of MLB.comAstros star Jose Altuve left the game after being hit in the hand or wrist by a pitch. There is no further information on his condition at this time.

Altuve has been a key part of Houston’s return to form. He’s had some huge performances this season.

In the 85 games he played before Friday night’s game, he hit .308/.357/.466 with 13 home runs and 39 RBIs. He also stole 13 bases.

Hopefully he was simply taken out as a precaution and will be able to return to the field soon. If he is forced to miss time, it will be just the latest setback in a long line of injury issues Houston has faced in 2024.

The 34-year-old infielder is truly the heart and soul of the Astros. While an update is expected in the near future, all we can do for now is hope the injury doesn’t force him to go on the disabled list.

Be sure to stay tuned for the latest update on Altuve’s injury situation.
