There is still a chance of isolated rain on the holiday weekend

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Hey everyone, I hope you had a great 4th of July holiday. If you want to continue the fun over the weekend, you’ll want to keep your rain gear handy.

We’ll see the rain die down in the evening hours as most of us can expect a hot and humid season. There will still be scattered rain tomorrow, but it certainly won’t rain, so no need to cancel any outdoor plans.

Be sure to keep your rain gear with you in case you get caught in one of the isolated storms on Saturday and Sunday.

Regardless of whether it rains, I can guarantee everyone that it will be very hot all weekend long. Our highs will be between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius and the feels will be between 38 and 41 degrees Celsius.

Make sure you have the necessary protection from the heat, especially if you are planning to do something outdoors at the weekend!

On the trail of the tropics:

Tropical Storm Beryl has made landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula and is now moving into the Gulf of Mexico. The storm is expected to re-intensify to or near hurricane strength before making landfall in parts of southern Texas.

This system will bring precipitation into the early hours of next week and bring a lot of moisture from the Gulf.
