Rape: Man arrested for raping his stepdaughter in Tripura | Agartala News

Agartala: A local court in Tripura’s Khowai district on Wednesday remanded a 45-year-old labourer into police custody on charges of raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter for the past three months. The man was arrested on Tuesday, reports Biswendu Bhattacharjee. A sub-divisional police officer on Thursday said the accused had admitted to the crime but details were awaited. Police have taken steps to provide proper medical care to the girl, who has suffered trauma and is mentally unstable. However, the extent of her problems and injuries can be ascertained only after medical tests and forensic examination, he said. According to the report, the girl did not want to return home on Monday after being released from school.
