Man found dead outside The Woodlands Mall, investigation ongoing

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Montgomery County officials are investigating after a man was found dead outside the Woodlands Mall on Wednesday.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to the mall at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive around 9 a.m. Wednesday for a welfare check.

When they arrived, they found an unconscious man who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

“The circumstances leading to the cause of death are currently under investigation. Based on initial findings, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. The identity of the deceased man will be released once next of kin have been notified,” the sheriff’s office said.

The investigations are being carried out by detectives from the Homicide and Violent Crime Commission and by forensic investigators.
