Charlottesville police are investigating two shootings that occurred overnight Monday into Tuesday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE NOW) – Charlottesville police are investigating two shootings that occurred within three hours overnight. The 1000 block of 1st Street South near Jordan Park was closed overnight while Charlottesville police investigated the shooting. Officers were called to 1052 1st Street South around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday morning and found two vehicles struck and an occupied residence that had been shot into. No one was injured and several shell casings were found.

At approximately 10:35 p.m. Monday night, city police were called to the intersection of Booker Street and Charlton Avenue near Washington Park. Someone had claimed to have seen someone shooting a gun in the street. No property damage or injuries were reported, but bullet casings were found in the street.
