Police investigate shooting at southwest Atlanta apartment complex that leaves one dead

Early Saturday morning, police swarmed a southwest Atlanta neighborhood investigating a deadly shooting.

Police at the scene said Channel 2’s Bryan Mims that the shooting left a 31-year-old man dead at an apartment complex on Peyton Place.

Lt. Andrew Smith of the Atlanta Police Department said the shots came from outside the apartment, fired from the street. Police were called to the apartment around 3 a.m.

Currently, officers are interviewing residents in the area, but no information is yet available on possible suspects.
