PORTLAND, Oregon (COIN) — A shooting in North Portland left a man dead on a TriMet MAX train platform, Portland police said.

At 8:30 p.m. Thursday, the Portland Police Bureau said it was called to the MAX train platform near North Interstate Avenue and North Prescott Street for reports of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a man dead.

“No arrests have been made and no suspects have been detained,” PPB said in a press release. Homicide investigators are at the scene.

During the investigation, North Interstate Avenue is closed between North Skidmore Street and North Going Street. MAX train service has also been suspended and is not operating in this area to the public.

Police said the identity of the deceased will not be released until a medical examiner confirms the cause of death and family has been notified. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Portland police.
