UA Vet Medicine Oro Valley site evacuated after threat

UPDATE 6:45 p.m

The University of Arizona Veterinary School tells us that classes are canceled for the remainder of today. They said classes will start again tomorrow, but students will have the option of an excused absence that will not benefit them.

The Oro Valley Police Department tells KGUN9 the threat was not directed directly at the school. The threat came in the form of a call from someone at the vet school who may have been having mental health issues.

They responded to the scene and now have the suspect in custody. They cleared the area around 4:30 p.m

There is currently no threat to the campus or surrounding area. OVPD said no one was injured.
