Two shootings reported in New Bedford on Tuesday

NEW BEDFORD, Massachusetts (WLNE) – New Bedford police responded to two separate shootings early Tuesday morning.

The first incident occurred around 1 a.m. when police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the intersection of Summer and Weld Streets.

Arriving officers discovered a broken window in a residential building on Summer Street.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.

At about the same time, another incident involving a man with a gun was reported on Yale Street.

Alfredo Loya, 22, was identified as the suspect who police say fired a firearm at the Yale Street apartment before fleeing the scene.

According to police, there are also several arrest warrants against Loya.
