KHOU 11 Weather Alerts: How to keep you and your family safe

HOUSTON – We’re excited to share another way the KHOU 11 Weather Team is working to keep you safe and informed about impending weather hazards.

Our goal is to make sure you get the most accurate and up-to-date information about the weather and how it will affect you. The new KHOU 11 weather alerts are just that: alerts as far in advance as possible so you can be armed with accurate information to keep yourself and your family safe.

When will there be weather warnings?

Our KHOU 11 weather team may issue a severe weather warning for an entire day, meaning severe weather is approaching and you need to take action. Or we may issue a severe weather warning for a few hours on a specific day, meaning you may need to adjust some plans during that time period.

In each case, we will inform you when the danger occurs, how it will affect you and what you need to do. Regardless of the warning, you are warned of any weather that could affect you and your family.
