80-year-old woman killed in accidental house fire in Alexander Co.

TAYLORSVILLE, NC (WBTV) – An 80-year-old woman has died in an accidental house fire in Alexander County, according to the fire marshal.

The Alexander County Fire Marshal said the fire started in the 100 block of Frank Smith Mobile Park Dr.

Authorities said the fire was probably accidentally caused by an extension cord running under an aluminum door.

Three fire departments responded to the fire, including those from Sugar Loaf, Taylorsville and Vashti.
