Ashanti alert issued for High Point woman

HIGH POINT, NC – The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has issued an Ashanti Alert for a missing woman from High Point.

The center is asking the public to be on the lookout for 31-year-old India Palshett Abney as there are indications of physical endangerment, abduction or kidnapping.

Abney is black, has black hair, is 5’6″ tall, and weighs approximately 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black bike shorts, and white sneakers at the corner of Mobile Street and Cliffside Avenue in High Point.

Authorities believe she is dating 32-year-old Evan Rashad Gainey. According to authorities, Gainy is 6 feet tall and weighs about 175 pounds.

Authorities believe they are traveling toward Greensboro in a black Mercedes with NC license plate PKN-8095.
