Traveler’s Rest police have released new details following an arrest. Authorities said they responded to a disturbance in which a vehicle was driving recklessly near the Ridge Community Friday night. According to the Traveler’s Rest public information officer, shots were fired during the incident Friday night. The suspect then fled on foot into the woods, where he resisted arrest after being detained by police, authorities said. The suspect, identified by police as Daniel McClellan, was eventually arrested and taken to the Greenville County Detention Center. McClellan was charged with 11 charges, including fleeing, reckless driving, open container, possession of marijuana near a school, possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, assaulting an officer while resisting arrest and hit and run.
