38-year-old arrested for aggression at LAX airport that left an elderly woman unconscious

Los Angeles police arrested a 38-year-old man accused of punching an elderly woman to the ground in a road rage incident at LAX airport last month.

On June 14, detectives pursued Jasan Givens Sr. at the corner of Western Avenue and West Florence Avenue. He was arrested without incident. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, he was arrested on a charge of assault and bail was set at $50,000.

The incident occurred on May 31 near a baggage drop-off station. Investigators said Givens and another man were involved in a fight that spilled over to where the elderly woman was checking her luggage. In LAPD surveillance footage, the two men can be seen running toward the elderly woman.

The pair crashed into the elderly woman, knocking her to the ground and rendering her unconscious. The Los Angeles Fire Department took the woman to the hospital in critical condition, but she has since been released.

Investigators said they had already spoken to the man Givens had argued with, but did not say whether he faced similar charges.
