2 injured in two-vehicle accident on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (June 14, 2024) – An 83-year-old woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash on Highway 101 near Tassajara Creek Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash occurred around 8:50 a.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, an 83-year-old woman from Cambria drove in front of a 2017 Honda Civic driven by a 47-year-old man from Atascadero. The Civic then struck the woman’s Toyota Camry, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and took the elderly woman to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment of her serious injuries. The man also suffered minor injuries but did not require medical transport.

At this time, CHP investigators do not suspect that alcohol or drug abuse played a role in this accident. However, the investigation is ongoing.
