Police officer injured after ‘critical incident’ near Scottsdale Airport

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) – A Scottsdale police officer is injured after a “critical incident” near the Scottsdale airport, officials said Thursday.

At around 6:30 p.m., police were called to a building near 78th Street and Greenway Road.

Investigators did not say how seriously the officer was injured.

Aerial footage from the Arizona’s Family news helicopter showed about a dozen police vehicles parked on 78th Street.

Some of them were undercover agents, others were marked as SUVs.

Police have not released any further details about the situation, but there is no danger to the surrounding community.

Officials are asking the public to avoid the area.
