Two people have been arrested on child abuse charges in Gold Hill after the child was found locked in the room

GOLD HILL, Nev. (KOLO) – Two women were arrested in Storey County and charged with child abuse after police found a child locked in a small room in Gold Hill.

On Monday at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Storey County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check on a child in the area of ​​Tunnel Road.

The deputy determined the child required medical attention and removed him from the room. According to police, the child did not have access to the toilet, food or water.

Subsequently, 34-year-old Tammy Hinds and 68-year-old Nancy Hinds of Gold Hill were arrested and charged with child abuse/neglect and false imprisonment. Both were booked into the Storey County Detention Center.

The child and a sibling were placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.
