Two Palm Beach County school officials were arrested last year and released to take new jobs

Two Palm Beach County school officials who were arrested and released last year will soon begin new jobs with the district. The former principal of Palm Beach Central High School – Darren Edgecomb – and the school’s former assistant principal – Daniel Snider – were charged with failing to report a case of sexual assault between two students. Three other school employees were also arrested. Prosecutors later dropped charges against Edgecomb, and a judge granted Snider’s motion to dismiss the charges. In a meeting Wednesday, the school board is scheduled to approve Edgecomb as a charter school principal next month. The board will also consider appointing Snider as an assistant principal at Royal Palm Beach Community High School, but it’s unclear when it will begin doing so.
