Two minor girls raped on pretext of marriage in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh – Republic World

Noida: Two men were arrested for allegedly raping two underage sisters in the Greater Noida region of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The accused filmed the sexual assault and extorted a considerable amount of money from the girls. They threatened to publish the video.

The accused allegedly extorted around Rs 10 lakh from the girls by threatening to release the video and kill them. However, the sisters later informed their family about it and later the girls’ father filed a complaint at Beta police station.

The girls’ father alleged that the accused made a video of his daughters after raping them and later used that video to extort hundreds of thousands of rupees from them since January.

During the initial investigation, it emerged that the men had lured the girls with the promise of marriage. When the men then demanded money, the girls stole it from their grandfather’s locker.

“When their grandfather checked his locker last week, he found that Rs 1 million was missing. The girls later admitted to giving it to the two men,” a senior official said.
